About
We’re not a huge corporation—we’re specialists. When Asa Johal founded Terminal Forest Products, his mandate was to train experts and build a business founded on quality, not quantity. So, while we aren’t known as the “big guy” in the sawmill industry, what we are known as is the “big guy” when it comes to quality cedar.
Environmental mission and strategy (ESG)
RESPONSIBLE STEWARDSHIP OF THE ENVIRONMENT
At Terminal Forest Products, we have a deep respect for Western Red Cedar. It is the foundation of our business, and we know that adding value to our products starts in the forest with sustainability initiatives. But, it doesn’t end there. From upgrading our manufacturing facilities and revising hazardous material disposal practices to recycling programs and office carpooling, we remain committed to taking every action we can, no matter how small, to make a big difference.
OUR PARTNERS IN SUSTAINABILITY
We’re committed to the continued protection of the Pacific Northwest’s coastal forests, and we not only work with reputable vendors, we maintain our Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), Chain of Custody certifications, ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification at our Langdale location, and partner with local First Nations groups. We’ve formed steadfast relationships with First Nations groups, providing financing in exchange for access to their timber, and conduct all business with the utmost respect for their land and the environment. Our partnerships help us demonstrate our commitment to you, and to the public, and we’re proud of the measures we’ve taken to protect environmental, cultural, and social values.
