Environmental mission and strategy (ESG)
The United Nations have commended STIEBEL ELTRON in Germany after the company displayed its on-going commitment to climate protection. The commitment to climate protection is to reinforce STIEBEL ELTRON’s position as a leader in environmental protection, and continue this mission with all of STIEBEL ELTRON’s factories around the world. “We are pleased that the joint company appeal initiated by the "Stiftung 2 Grad" has met with a great response and are proud to contribute our share" said Dr. Nicholas Matten from STIEBEL ELTRON. “If we now lose sight of the climate targets and the measures necessary to achieve them, we will slide into the next global crisis: global warming. That is why we cannot afford to make bad investments in this critical phase. Rather, the financial resources for the new start must be used simultaneously for more climate protection in industry, transport and buildings. In addition, the measures from the climate package that have already been decided upon must be consistently implemented - such as switching to environmentally friendly heating technology." STIEBEL ELTRON ASIA is the region’s leading manufacturer of water heaters, water filters, heat pumps, water pumps, and hand-dryers that focuses on the core Thai market and others in Southeast Asia. The manufacturer in Thailand has been certified for quality management systems according to the international standards ISO 9001: 2015, in which STIEBEL ELTRON ASIA’s research and development team has introduced the solution concept for environmental protection, also known as Green Technology. This is in an effort to continue the vision of STIEBEL ELTRON in Germany, to develop and produce sustainable products and solutions that can drastically reduce energy consumption, and help protect the environment as well as minimize the emissions of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gas. In addition, the factories have implemented a sustainable energy and environmental policy within the organization, including the up-cycling of plastic wastes from STIEBEL ELECTRON’s products that were recycled into a multi-purpose container and trash can under the campaign “Reduce wastes & save the planet, for a better tomorrow”. The vision of STIEBEL ELTRON in Germany is to invest in the preservation and protection of the climate and environment, from product research and development, down to packaging and the production process that minimizes environmental impacts. STIEBEL ELTRON is currently in the process of developing products from recycled raw materials to match or possibly exceed the quality and suitability of conventional materials.
