This concrete basement had a high humidity level and no insulation - Airboard fixed it !
Having no vapor barrier or insulation, this basement in White Rock, BC, was humid and taking the heat and lowering the temperature of the other finished rooms in the walkout basement. Airfoam rigid foam insulation was ideal for solving both problems in one, providing insulation and a vapor barrier, the owners were careful to stick the insulation directly to the wetted concrete with Sika Pro low expansion foam as per the manufacturers instructions and it was done in just a day. A few days later the seams were taped and any gaps had additional foam added. A very quick and simple way to insulate a basement by sticking rigid foam panels straight on the concrete walls.
"A very easy fix" said Mark W, son of the elderly owner, "we followed the instruction, cutting the rigid foam insulation boards is easy when you know how - and Mom's basement is now a dry and usable space for storing some clothes and photo albums without worrying about mold and condensation".
