Is it possible to do a mono pour if you have a covered porch?
Since the concrete slab is insulated, how do you manage to get the covered porch concrete poured at the same time? How does it work for the insulation? The section where the thickened edge of the slab meets the covered porch must require insulation?
Yes, you can do a mono-pour for a slab on grade even with an exterior porch. You would need to include a thermal separator between the interior and exterior portions of the slab, but as long as the entire slab foundation is formed and ready for concrete at the same time then you should be able to pour it all at once as well. Often times slabs are poured in two shots (which is more expensive), so if you are adding a minor complication like wanting to do interior and exterior pours at the same time I would specify with the designers as well before they begin drawing plans to make sure.
Our last slab on grade pour for our 2019 Demo house was an air heated raft slab on grade and had exterior porches as well, we had the slab engineered by Legalett that provides slab on grade kits, so if you aren’t able to find an engineer to design one to meet your specifications you could check with Legalett, they distribute all over North America.
