Need roof repairs, insulation and new tin, are there grants available?
Repairing my home and the roof is barely insulated, trying to correct the ice build ups that causes leaking inside. I am the homowner of this rural old house and loking for any financial( grants) I can possibly qualify for. Work full time for in Health Field for 23 years now. During this COVID I am working from home.
Finding financial incentives and tax credits for home renovations is best searched by entering those terms and your state, provincial or local region. We have a list of green home energy efficiency home improvement financial incentives here, but they change so fast and they vary so much by region that it is impossible to stay on top of it. But specifically to your topic of roofing, I don’t know that you’ll find much. Typically those investments of taxpayers dollars are applied to energy efficiency upgrades that save energy as part of climate change action initiatives, so while re-insulating a roof could possibly apply, I don’t think you’ll find much for replacing the roof covering. So my recommendation would be to first do a web search for incentives near you, and what process you’d need to go through to qualify. The first step is often having an energy audit and blower door test to asses performance first.
