What is the best flood prevent system for a home?
I am confused on a type of flood control sytem to purchase. Just a check vale in the font yard/ check valve with a 2 stage well out on front of home/ ejector pump with a check valve in the basement floor
The best way to prevent flood damage in basements is with proper drainage and sump pumps, but I suspect you may specifically be referring to sewage backup. To be clear - are you hooked up to municipal sewers or do you have your own well and septic system? Give us a few more details if you like and we may be able to help more, but here are a few pages that are the best places to start – along with check valves you can add an additional emergency flood measure, see this page - 'Smart' sewage backup and flood prevention devices
And as for ground water infiltration check this page –Flood prevention, pumps & alarms to prevent basement flooding.
Hopefully that helps, I suspect that smart sewage backup and alarm system may give you that added bit of confidence but let us know.
Hooked up to municipal sewer
One plumber said to place a check valve in the basement with an ejector pump to prevent back up from sewer water
Having a check valve installed will prevent flooding or do I also need a two stage holding tank which I have no idea what that even is
