How do you make a home with clean air quality?
My family needs a safe home as we are all sick from toxic mold exposure. How do we get started? I'm hoping to know the details of how much this cost financially. Thank you.

Keeping safe and non toxic indoor air in your home whether you are building a new home or renovating, is about material selection and finding natural building materials. Is this an existing house? Are you renovating or just looking to improve the air quality without much work? It is a lot about material selection – first with materials in the building envelope such as the insulation you choose, but most important is choosing non toxic interior finishing materials. Finding Low VOC Paints, natural wood finishing oils for floors, formaldehyde free plywood instead of chipboard or particle board that are full of resins, these are your first steps. Here you a lot of pages about how to build homes for chemically sensitive people.

We can't help too much with telling you what it will cost not knowing what you are building, but these at least will point you in the right direction. Have a look and if you have more questions let us know if you’re building, renovating or just refurnishing and refinishing to improve the air in your home.
We were actually looking into building one of your prefab ready lit homes, but wanted to know what the process, timeline and cost would be? Thank you for the articles. We are working with a building biologist as well. We just need a home whether that is something we build or buy for now. We were hoping to build a prefab, Leed certified manufactured home.
A good floor can have a positive impact on indoor air quality in several ways.
Firstly, a good floor can prevent the accumulation of dust, dirt, and other pollutants that can worsen indoor air quality. A smooth and even surface is easier to clean and maintain, which reduces the amount of dust and dirt that can accumulate over time.
Secondly, some flooring materials can release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that can contribute to poor indoor air quality. A good floor should be made from materials that emit low levels of VOCs, such as natural materials like hardwood, bamboo, or cork, or synthetic materials that have been certified as low-emitting.
