This custom LivingHome was designed by Plant Design Partner Ray Kappe for a beautiful lot in Santa Monica. It was prefabricated as eleven modules and assembled onsite in just over two days, saving the neighborhood from months of disruption. Like all LivingHomes, this home features an extremely comprehensive environmental program.
About Ray Kappe
The late Ray Kappe, FAIA, was Plant Prefab's first design partner, responsible for the company’s famous Santa Monica home (the first home in the world to achieve LEED Platinum certification), a number of remarkable custom projects, and several LivingHomes. His residential architecture is world-renown, characterized as 'the apotheosis of the California House.' Kappe’s designs evince a mastery of warm, modern spaces, clearly expressed construction systems, and environmental sensitivity.
